JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 46-year-old Mt. Vernon man was arrested late Sunday night in connection with the stabbing of another man.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Bryant Staples was taken into custody at the scene for alleged Armed Violence and Aggravated Domestic Battery.
Deputies responded to the Rolling Meadows Trailer Park just before 11 p.m. Sunday, in reference to a person being stabbed. Upon arrival Deputies mad contact with a man who had a stab wound to the stomach. That subject was taken to the hospital, no other information is available at this time on his condition.
Staples was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he awaits the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
