CARBONDALE — Carbondale police are investigating an early morning shooting that sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to police, officers responded around 5:18 this morning to an apartment complex in the 900 block of West Sycamore Street in reference to a shots fired complaint.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that a victim, who is not being identified at this time, had been shot.

The victim was transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with serious injuries.  The investigation into the incident is continuing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
