CARBONDALE — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 35-year-old Carbondale man in connection with a Thursday morning shooting that sent another man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Reginald L. Cavitt is wanted on five counts aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with an altercation around 5:18 Thursday morning with 29-year-old Derrius Bates, also of Carbondale. Cavitt is considered armed and dangerous and his whereabouts at this time are unknown.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned they are acquaintances and Cavitt shot Bates with a firearm. Bates is recovering from his wounds and is stable.
