WASHINGTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that starting June 8, Interstate 64 eastbound and westbound will be intermittently restricted to one lane in each direction from just west of County Highway 11 in Washington County to the Jefferson County line.

The work will take place weekdays between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. and is necessary to perform repairs to the pavement and install a thin asphalt surface. The work is expected to be completed by the fall.

Delays are expected. IDOT advises motorists to follow all construction signs and drive with caution through the work zones.
