SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Gov. Bruce Rauner has appointed a new director for Illinois’ Department of Human Rights.

The governor announced Friday that Janice Glenn will be replacing current director Rocco Claps, who is leaving after serving for more than 12 years.

Glenn currently serves as the governor’s director of diversity and recruitment where she recruits staff for various state agencies. She has held that job for more than a year.

Glenn is also the co-chair of the Illinois Commission to End Hunger, the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Poverty, and the Illinois Human Services Commission.

She is a graduate of Roosevelt University and lives in the Chicago suburb of Homewood.
