MARION COUNTY — A 44-year-old Sandoval man was sentenced today in Marion County Court to 7-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to a sex offender registration violation.

Clayton P. Worley was charged in February with Class 2 felony for failing more than twice to notify, or maintain a fixed address as a registered sex offender.

Worley was originally convicted in North Carolina of aggravated criminal sexual assault. That conviction requires him to register in Illinois and to follow registry requirements.

He was convicted in 2009 of another registry violation and was sentenced to 3-years in prison.
