MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 30-year-old Centralia man charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

According to police reports, officers responded to a report Wednesday night, of an incident involving Christopher G. Maynor.
Upon arrival Maynor was reportedly disorderly and combative, ultimately spitting in the face of a Centralia police sergeant and then kicking him.
Maynor was taken to the Marion County jail and was formally charged Thursday in Marion County Court with two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor criminal damage to property and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
In an unusual move in Marion County Court, his bail was set at $100,000. If able to post $10,000 cash bond, he is prohibited from having contact with the officer, must abstain from drugs and alcohol and sumbit to random testing.
Maynor is next scheduled in court August 16, with his court appointed attorney.
