FRANKLIN COUNTY — A crash involving a car and a semi Monday morning resulted in four people being hospitalized for injuries.
Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says the semi, driven by 47-year-old Joseph A. Burch of Squire, West Virginia, was going north on North Thompsonville Road around 8:40 a.m. Monday when his semi crossed into the path of a car driven by 63-year-old Robert T. Walker of Wayne City.
Both drivers received major injuries and were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Two passengers in Walker’s car were also injured and taken by ambulance to local hospitals.
Burch was cited for disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
