FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail has been set in Fayette County Court at $20,000 for a 34-year-old Salem woman who found herself arrested twice in the same day this week.

According to police reports, Michelle Forbes was first arrested Tuesday on an outstanding Fayette County arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on a 2014 criminal misdemeanor case.

Forbes was released from the Fayette County Jail on a $4,000 personal recognizance bond, but was arrested again a short time later on multiple new charges.

She was formally charged Wednesday in Fayette County Court on the new charges of Class 4 criminal felony trespass to a residence while a person present, and misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault of a peace officer, and two counts resisting a peace officer.

Forbes was returned to the Fayette County Jail where she remains pending the posting of bond. She’s next scheduled in court August 19, for a first appearance with court appointed counsel.
