WASHINGTON COUNTY — A traffic stop by Nashville police on Saturday resulted in three arrests. A Nashville officer stopped a vehicle on the eastbound off ramp of Interstate 64 that had been reported as stolen in DuQuoin.

The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Rebecca Barnes-Atterberry of DuQuoin was arrested for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and for unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes and needles.

A passenger in the car, 26-year-old Zachariah Greene of Vergennes, was taken into custody on a felony Washington County warrant, as well as unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and for unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes and needles.

The third person on the car, 25-year-old Brettan Cooper of Elkville, was arrested for unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and for unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes and needles.

The three were taken to the Washington County Jail where they were placed on a felony hold.
