WASHINGTON COUNTY — Area law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a woman in rural Nashville.

According to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, he was dispatched around 3:15 yesterday afternoon to an address in the 13000 block of Hahlen Church Road in Nashville on a report of a deceased female.

Styninger says the woman’s death is being investigated by the Coroner’s Office, Nashville Police Department, Washington and County Sheriff’s Office, with the Illinois State Police heading the investigation. The residence where the woman was found has been taped off and remains secured by the Illinois State Police.

An autopsy is scheduled for noon today in Belleville. Few details are being released at this time, but we’ll update this story as further information becomes available.
