James Blair was found guilty of an April 2015 incident in which he shot a 27-year-old man in the leg during an armed robbery in Aviston. Blair reportedly took $400 in designer jeans and then shot the man in the leg. The shooting victim survived.

The state argued at trial that Blair then pointed the gun at two other people, and pulled the trigger.

He was sentenced to 35 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for Class X felony armed robbery, 15 years for Class X felony aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, 10 years each for two counts Class 1 felony aggravated battery, and 10 years for Class 4 felony aggravated assault. All sentences will be served concurrently.

Blair was also ordered to pay court costs and nearly $18,000 in restitution.
