CENTRALIA — Centralia police are warning of another possible phone scam in the area. The police department received a complaint Thursday from a woman saying she’d received a call from someone claiming to be from Buchheit’s and that her credit card payment was overdue.
The woman said the person on the phone was very rude, and pushy, and demanded the woman make an immediate payment or legal action would be sought against her.
Police say that not only does the woman not have a Buchheit’s credit card, but that Buchheit’s doesn’t even offer a credit card.
CPD cautions residents to not provide any personal or financial information over the phone and urges anyone receiving calls such as this to simply hang up the phone.
