MENLO PARK, Calif. — After a campaign season fraught with fake news circulating around social media, Facebook is testing warning labels for fake news.
Facebook is testing warning labels for fake news. TechCrunch reports Facebook is putting warning labels on fake news articles in some users’ News Feed.
TechCrunch says the labels read, “This website is not a reliable news source,” followed by a reason. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said last month that Facebook will take a number of steps to root out fake news, including labels, working with fact-checkers, making it easier for users to report false stories, and creating technology to classify misinformation.
