MARION COUNTY — A 19-year-old Iuka man is in the Marion County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges, after he was arrested over the weekend for alleged sex crimes.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jacob Mann after they investigated a tip that he had nude photos of an underage girl on his phone and that he was with the girl at that time.

A second source confirmed for deputies that the photos of the 15-year-old were on Mann’s phone, so the deputies went to the girls’ home, where the girl reportedly told them she sent the photo’s to Mann.

Mann and the girls’ father then reportedly exited the home at that time, with Mann saying he guessed he was going to be arrested.

Mann allegedly told deputies he asked the girl to send him the photos and that he had sex with the girl multiple times in the past few days.

Update:

Mann was formally charged in Marion County Court Monday morning with Class 3 possession of child pornography and misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse when more than 5-years older than the victim. His bail was set at $50,000.
