CENTRALIA — Ballot placements were confirmed Tuesday morning for Centralia City Council, with four candidates vying for two available seats.

A lottery determined the first candidate listed on the ballot will be incumbent council member Howard Jones, followed by Jason Hunter, and incumbent Andre Marshall. The three candidates filed simultaneously on November 21, so the lottery was necessary to determine placement. Joshua Qualls will be listed last on the ballot, as he turned in his nominating petitions later than the other three candidates.

The consolidated election will be held April 4, 2017. Jones and Marshall are fighting to retain their four-year seats, while Hunter and Qualls seek to unseat them.

The winning candidates will be seated at the first regular special meeting on May 2017.
