CENTRALIA — Educators from Clinton, Marion, and Washington counties will be meeting on February 17th at Centralia High School for a Tri-County Institute.
Centralia High School will host this event sponsored by Kaskaskia Special Education District #801 (KSED) and the Regional Office of Education #13 (ROE).
The event will begin at 8:10 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. with 6 breakout sessions offered to provide educators with relevant, current professional development.
The conference will include over 200 sessions. Some of the featured speakers will be: Col. Rickey Oeth and Lt. Col. Paul Hertel, with the Civil Air Patrol; Bruce Talbot of Bruce R. Talbot Associates speaking on current trends in drug abuse; Kendra Smiley, author and speaker of Live Life Intentionally; S. Nel Daymon-Yingling, behavior and autism support specialist; Donna Clark Love, internationally recognized expert in bullying prevention; and Dr. Monte Selby, award winning educator, author, and songwriter.
This year’s event offers many other excellent speakers from Staff Development for Educators, one of the leading providers of professional development for PreK through Grade 12 educators as well as numerous sessions offered by fellow educators from the districts of ROE #13, KSED #801, Kaskaskia College, Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and McKendree University.
