CLINTON COUNTY — A 24-year-old Breese man was sentenced Wednesday in Clinton County court to 2-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to stabbing a male juvenile in 2016.
James Keck was arrested in January 2016 and charged with felony aggravated battery using a deadly weapon.
Bail was set at $20,000 and Keck was freed on $2,000 cash bond and prohibited from having contact with the victim.
As the case proceeded through the court, a notice to appear following a continuance was returned to the clerk’s office as undeliverable and unable to forward.
Keck was subsequently arrested and charged in a separate case and has remained in custody since that time.
In addition to his prison sentence, Keck was ordered to pay $1,100 in fines and fees.
In the separate case, Keck was sentenced to 2 years in prison for a Class 3 felony charge of burglary and a Class 1 felony charge of residential burglary was dismissed per the plea agreement.
In that case, he was ordered to pay $900 in fines and fees.
