JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two Mt. Vernon men are in the Jefferson County Jail following their arrests Tuesday morning on multiple meth-related charges.
According to reports, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a knock and announce narcotics search warrant at 1516 Dodds Street after investigations by the Mt.Vernon Police Department /Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division developed information that methamphetamine was being sold from the residence by 27-year-old Joseph Welch.
Once inside the residence, law enforcement located Joseph Welch and 47-year-old Gary Welch and took them into custody.
Joseph Welch has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, possession of a Schedule 2 substance with intent to deliver, and possession of drug equipment.
Gary Welch has been charged with possession of a Schedule 2 substance.
