MARION COUNTY — Three people were sentenced Tuesday in Marion County court to prison terms for unrelated cases.

A 21-year-old Centralia woman was sentenced to 3-years in prison after she admitted to a petition to revoke her probation on a 2016 conviction for Class 2 felony aggravated battery of a peace officer.

Nikkita Campbell was originally arrested in October on an outstanding Marion County warrant, but at the time of her arrest kicked a Centralia police officer several times as he attempted to place her in the back of a squad car.

Campbell was sentenced to 4-years probation but violated the terms of that agreement and prosecutors filed a petition to have that probation revoked.

A 27-year-old Vandalia man was sentenced to 3-years in prison after he pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lesser charge of failing to report as a registered sex offender.

Kraig Nichols was arrested in March after he was found hiding at a home in Iuka where he had been staying without registering as a sexually violent or dangerous offender for a second or subsequent time.

A 20-year-old Centralia man was sentenced to 2-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to Class 3 felony possession of less than 5-grams of meth.

Coleman was arrested in April after he admitted to Centralia police that methamphetamine and an electronic scale found in a car during a traffic stop belonged to him.
