WASHINGTON COUNTY — One driver’s failure to stop at a stop sign is being cited as the reason for a two-vehicle crash this morning in Washington County.

According to Illinois State Police, 91-year-old George Ciganovich, of DuQuoin, was driving westbound on DuBois Road while 26-year-old Audreyana Jagger, of Ohio, was southbound on Illinois Route 127.

Ciganovich failed to stop at the stop sign on westbound DuBois Road and struck the passenger’s side of Jagger’s vehicle with the front end of his vehicle.

Jagger was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and then airlifted to a regional hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old passenger in Jagger’s vehicle, Abigail Jagger, of Ohio, was airlifted from the scene to a regional hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Ciganovich was not injured in the crash but was cited for disobeying a stop sign. Both vehicles received major damage and were towed from the scene.
