CINCINNATI, Ohio — As the summer grill season kicks off this weekend, one of the largest hot dog producers has issued a recall for more than 200,000 pounds of hot dogs and wieners.

The company that makes Nathan’s and Curtis Hot Dogs is recalling the franks because the USDA says they may be contaminated with metal.

John Morrell and Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio, said it had already received three complaints from people finding metal objects in the hot dogs.

The company is recalling 14-ounce packages of Nathan’s Skinless Beef Franks with a “use by” date of August 19.

16-ounce packages of Curtis Beef Master Franks with a “use by” date of June 25 are also being recalled.

If you have a recalled package, throw it away or take it back to the store where you bought them.
