CENTRALIA — A 43-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail on charges alleging he raped a woman in a Thursday morning incident.

According to reports, Centralia police were sent to the area of East Broadway around 10:39 a.m. Thursday on a report from a passing motorist of a female running around in her panties screaming for help.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Tyrone Hill allegedly walking away from a building, bleeding and asking for help. They also located the female laying on the ground crying and bleeding. She reportedly informed police that Hill had attempted to sexually assault her.

Hill was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail. He was charged Friday morning in Marion County Court with two counts Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault by force.

Bail has been set at $200,000 and a first appearance with his court appointed attorney is scheduled for July 18.
