FAYETTE COUNTY — A 45-year-old Vandalia man has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for the unauthorized videotaping of a woman in the restroom of a private restroom.

Charles Sharp was sentenced Friday in Fayette County Court to 18-months in prison after he pleaded guilty to two of the three Class 4 felony counts against him.
According to court information, Sharp made the unauthorized recordings between May 1, 2013 and February 26, 2016, without the female’s knowledge.
Om addition to the prison sentence, Sharp will have to serve one-year mandatory supervised release at the end of his prison term, and pay more than $1,400 in fines and fees, with his $2,500 bond to be applied.
The balance of the bond will be returned to the person who posted it on Sharp’s behalf and Sharp was remanded into the custody of the Fayette County Sheriff to be transported to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
