FAYETTE COUNTY — A Fayette County resident has announced his candidacy for the House seat being vacated by Republican State Representative John Cavaletto.
Blaine Wilhour announced on Monday that he is running as a Republican for the 107th District State Representative seat.
Wilhour and his family live in the rural Beecher City area in Fayette County. He is a former member of the Fayette County Board.
Wilhour is the co-owner and operates Longhorn Buildings, LLC, and is a third generation family farmer.
He’s the third person to announce their intention to run for Cavaletto’s seat but only the second to remain in the race.
Effingham Businessman Brian Milleville remains on the ballot for the March GOP primary and while Marion County businessman Adam Smith announced his candidacy last week, he suspended his campaign a few days later.
