CLAY COUNTY — A 39-year-old Louisville man was killed in a single-vehicle early Friday morning in Clay County.

Chad Kuhlig was fatally injured in a crash that occurred just after 1 a.m. on Harrier Road, about a half-mile north of Clay County Road 1000 North.

According to State Police, Kuhlig’s pickup truck was traveling south on Harrier Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the ditch and embankment on the west side of the road.

The truck then partially re-entered the roadway before following the ditch towards a creek bed. It then left the ditch and traveled farther west into an open field before entering the creek bed. The vehicle struck the embankment on the south side of the creek and came to rest.

Authorities say an investigation is pending regarding the cause of death.
