MARION COUNTY — A 27-year-old Central City man pleaded guilty Monday to an amended charge in Marion County Court, in exchange for two Class X felony charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 being dismissed.

Johnathon W. Stinde filed an open plea of guilty to Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.

He was released to electronic home confinement with bail modified to a $100,000 recognizance bond. Conditions of his release are to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 except his brother, and to undergo a sex offender evaluation.

Stinde was arrested in April by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies after Central City Grade School filed an abuse complaint with the Department of Children and Family Services. The complaint resulted in an investigation and Stinde’s ultimate arrest.

He had been held in the county jail since his April arrest with bail set at $100,000.

Stinde is due back in court December 13 for a status hearing regarding his sentencing. A Class 2 felony is punishable by between 3 and 7 years in prison.
