CENTRAL CITY — The State Fire Marshal has been called to investigate a fire Thursday night in Central City that heavily damaged the inside of a home in the 300 block of North Harrison.

The fire was first spotted around 8 p.m. Thursday night under a mobile home owned by Misty Cox, but when firefighters arrived on scene they also discovered fire in the living room and bedroom of the home.

The call of the fire reportedly came from a neighbor as the residents of the home were not at home.

Heavy smoke damage was reported throughout the home, although the fire never broke through the outside walls. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze.

Cox’s mother Sharen died in a fire last week to her home in the  600 block of North Hickory Street in Centralia.
