Dennis Thacker was taken into custody at his Alma home early Sunday morning. A federal grand jury handed down the indictment charging Thacker with conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to deliver Alpha PVP – also known as bath salts — from 2016 until December 2017.

The second and third counts charge respectively that on June 2, 2017, Thacker distributed Alpha PVP and possessed with the intent to distribute Alpha PVP.

Thacker is being held in the Marion County Jail pending his first appearance in federal court.

He was arrested in December following a traffic stop by Flora police and reportedly found to be in possession of controlled substances which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Thacker was ultimately charged with possession of methamphetamine and unlawful use of a weapon. He’s scheduled for a January 24 first appearance in the Clay County case.
