WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 51-year-old Marissa man was killed Monday when the truck he was driving was struck by a garbage truck in Washington County.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, Randall Koeller was reportedly southbound on County Highway 6 in Washington County when he reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign where County Highway 6 intersects with County Highway 13.

Koeller’s Chevy truck was subsequently struck by a garbage truck driven by 51-year-old Willie Willis of Sparta.

Koeller’s truck continued to the southwest corner of the intersection and into a field where it overturned and caused his fatal injuries.

The garbage truck continued southbound into the field on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Willis was transported to the Washington County Hospital in Nashville with major injuries before being transferred to a St. Louis area hospital.
