MOUNT VERNON — In a memo released Monday, Continental Tire says it will begin reopening its Mt. Vernon plant in phases following the partial closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting Sunday, April 26, mixing will resume partial production with managers starting to contact employees this week regarding plans for the following weeks.

The truck tire department will start partial production starting Monday, April 27, with managers also contacting those employees this week.

Phase 1 of the plan will then begin Monday, May 4, with very limited production in passenger light truck. Employees in that department will be contacted by their managers the week of April 27.

Phase 2 will then resume full production in passenger light truck starting Monday, May 11.
