EFFINGHAM COUNTY — A sad update to a missing person case we covered last month. The Illinois State Police say the body of 29-year-old Kimberly Mattingly, of Paris, Illinois, was discovered in rural Beecher City Wednesday and two men have been arrested in connection with her death.

According to ISP, 36-year-old Christopher E. Glass, of Mason, has been arrested on an Effingham County warrant charging him with two counts of First Degree Murder, Concealment of Homicidal Death and a parole violation warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Glass was arrested in Terre Haute, Indiana and is being held in the Vigo County Jail pending extradition to Illinois. His bail has been set at $5 million dollars.

A second person, 37-year-old Aaron M. Kaiser of Beecher City, was arrested and charged with the Concealment of Homicidal Death. Kaiser is being held in the Effingham County Jail pending a bond hearing.

The investigation into Mattingly’s murder is ongoing. She was last seen April 5 in Toledo, Illinois in Edgar County.

ISP ultimately issued a plea to the public for help locating her or for information regarding her whereabouts.
