The Illinois Department of Public Health on Sunday announced 639 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including six additional confirmed deaths.
That brings the total number of cases to 147,251 and the number of deaths to 7,020.
Within the previous 24 hours leading up to the Sunday afternoon report, laboratories showed 27,235 tests.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of the total test from June 28 –July 4 is 2.6%.
Locally, Marion County announced one new case Monday after three other Marion County residents tested positive over the holiday weekend for Coronavirus Disease.
They are a male in his 40s, two females in their 20s, and a male in his 50s. All are doing well and are at home on isolation.
These new cases bring Marion County’s total number of positive cases to 71, with six cases remaining active and in isolation, 65 have been released from isolation, and 32 individuals who have had close contact with someone infected remain quarantined.
The Washington County Health Department has announced one positive case of COVID-19 after a stretch without any active cases.
The latest case is a male in his 20s and its believed he contracted the virus from his employment.
Since he was a close contact, he is now being quarantined and doing well at home. That makes 1 active case of covid-19 in Washington County, with 19 being released from isolation and 0 deaths.
Jefferson County health officials are reporting one new case. The male in his 30s is currently in isolation.
The latest case brings the county total of positive cases to 110, with 95 having been released from isolation and 14 have died. It’s believed the three latest cases contracted the virus while traveling out of state.
Clinton County health officials are now reporting a total of 241 positive cases, with 205 released from isolation, 19 remain in home quarantine and 17 have died.
In Fayette County, the number of positive cases remain at 23, with 20 who have recovered and three who have died.
