FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail was set at $35,000 last week in Fayette County Court for a 32-year-old Ramsey man charged with multiple offenses for allegedly kicking and attempting to disarm a sheriff’s deputy responding to a domestic battery call.

According to sheriff’s reports, Jackie T. Matherly has been charged in court with Class 2 felonies for allegedly attempting to disarm a police officer, and two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, as well as misdemeanor charges for alleged domestic battery and resisting a peace officer.

Deputies responding to a report of domestic battery reportedly resulted in Matherly pushing one deputy and attempting to take a weapon from him, as well as kicking another deputy in the leg.

Matherly is scheduled to appear Wednesday morning in Fayette County Court for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
