JEFFERSON COUNTY — Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 66-year-old Ina man charged with predatory sex offenses.

Jerry D. McKay was arrested Thursday at his home in rural Ina when Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies served a warrant charging him with two Class X felonies for predatory criminal sexual assault.

The arrest warrant was the result of a Sheriff’s Office investigation initiated on September 23, 2020, involving the complaint of a teenage juvenile victim.

According to the sheriff’s department, the investigation Involved many man-hours plus a search warrant served at the McKay residence.

The case was presented to the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office for review for charges and a warrant was issued.

McKay remains in the Jefferson County Jail and is next scheduled to appear in court June 2 for arraignment.
