MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $1 million for a 39-year-old Salem woman charged Friday morning accused of allegedly robbing Salem fast food manager at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

Christina Lewis remains in the Marion County Jail on a Class X felony charge of armed robbery.

According to Salem police, they apprehended Lewis as she was leaving a side door of Wendy’s restaurant with a loaded pistol and a bag of money.

Police reportedly received a 911 call around 2:49 Thursday from an employee who arrived for work and said she heard cash falling then saw a female with a gun in her hand pointed at the manager.

The suspect reportedly had demanded the money from the cash registers and what was in the manager’s office.

A nearby Salem police officer arrived within one minute of the call and took Lewis into custody without incident.

Police say Wendy’s apparently had closed earlier due to a lack of employees and was about to reopen when Lewis apparently parked her car in the parking lot of the closed Pizza Hut restaurant and entered the same side door of Wendy’s that she later would exit.

The manager was found hiding in the freezer where she had set off a hold-up alarm. There were no injuries.
