SALEM — Clifford Lee French, 87, of Salem, Illinois passed away May 8, 2022, at Salem Township Hospital with family by his side.
Born October 28, 1934, in Effingham, IL, he was the son of Rufus and Sarah (Stidwell) French who preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022, at the East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. The family invites you to gather with them at the cemetery for interment services. He was married to Mary Linthicum, on June 22, 1957, and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2016.
Survivors include Cheryl Mitchell (Sherman Sills) of Odin, IL; Carla Jones of Salem, IL; Debra French (Stacey Easley) of Iuka, IL and Laura Holstlaw (Jeff) of Salem, IL along with several grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a granddaughter whom they raised, Shannon Lambert of Salem, IL and a great-grandchild they raised, Haley and Blaid Phillips both of Odin, IL. Other survivors are his siblings, Eugene French of Effingham, IL, Barb Cade of Ramsey, IL and Sue Sloan of Decatur, IL.
