CENTRALIA — Mary Ellen Ainscough, 101, of Centralia, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon with her family by her side.
Mary was born December 10, 1920 in Ziegler, IL, the daughter of Walter W. Tabor and Zada (Mandrell) Tabor. She married Vaden E. Ainscough, Sr. on October 9, 1943 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2007.

Mary is survived by one daughter Cheryl Finley and husband Sam of Potosi, MO; one son Vaden Ainscough, Jr. and wife Brenda, of Centralia; five grandchildren Cary Crabb of Owensville, MO, Kimberly Ragland of Sesser, Brian Hays, of Sandoval, Lisa Oller of Mt. Vernon, and Jonathan Ainscough of Decatur; 14 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; special friend: Tom Russell of Centralia; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Zada Tabor; husband: Vaden E. Ainscough, Sr.; one brother: Walter E. Tabor; three sisters: Imogene Douglas, Kathleen Arrowsmith, and Helen Patton; one great-great grandson: Henry Havelka.
Mary was a member of Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia. She enjoyed decorating, camping, and especially entertaining her family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mary Ellen Ainscough will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia with Pastor Karl Barnfield officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to the time of service Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel.
