PERRY COUNTY, IL — A Mt. Vernon man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Perry County Saturday night.

According to Illinois State Police, around 8:10 p.m., a car driven by 22-year-old Braden D. Stroud of Mt. Vernon was driving east on Illinois 154 near Burning Star 2 Road when Stroud made an improper U-turn at the intersection. Another car driven by 24-year-old Joseph G. Brake of Du Quoin (duu KOYN) was also going east on Illinois 154 behind Stroud. Brake’s car struck the driver side door of Stroud’s car as it turned around at the intersection. Stroud was taken to an area hospital with injuries. Brake was not injured. Three passengers in Brake’s car – 26-year-old Wyatt C. Melton, 27-year-old Christopher T. Porter and 26-year-old Chance D. Murray, all of Du Quoin – were not injured.

Stroud was cited for Improper Turn.
