Barbara Kathryn Holman, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 1:57 am April 18, 2023 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born June 11, 1943 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Joseph “Joe” Alexander  and Lucille N. (Wielt) Dull. Barbara married James Snyder on April 7, 1963 and he preceded her in death. She later married G.B. Holman on October 29, 1996 in Mount Vernon, Illinois at their parents home.

Barbara is survived by her husband, G.B. Holman; children, Donna Sue Ping and husband, Randy of Huntersville, North Carolina, Shelley Kay Varney and husband, Chuck of Kansas City, Missouri, James Joseph Snyder of Corinth, Mississippi; grandchildren, Brittany Ping Kannon and husband, Rick, Autumn Ping, Hannah Ping, Chasity Hall McCue and husband, Mark, Kaycee Hall and fiancé, Kraig Roberts, Preston Snyder, Alexa Snyder, Lacie Snyder, Dylan Snyder; great-grandchildren, Alaya Rankin and Piper Grace Kannon; brother, Ed Dull and wife, Peggy of McKinny, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda Marie Ping.

Barbara was a teachers aide for District 80 Primary Center. She also worked as a legal secretary for Ed Dull and was a bookkeeper at American Savings and Comp. Services. Barbara was a member of Central Christian Church and Good Samaritan Auxiliary.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s honor to Central Christian Church.
