MARION, Ill. —

Three people were arrested after a search of their vehicle revealed 33 pounds of crystal ice methamphetamine during a traffic stop for a violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code on I-57 Wednesday night in Marion.

According to Marion Police Chief David Fitts, during the stop at 10:20 p.m., probable cause was established to conduct a search of the vehicle and a Marion Police K9 was requested. Police searched the vehicle and found crystal ice meth.

They arrested 44-year-old Linda Cuchna of Des Plaines, IL, 37-year-old Angel Nieves of Brookfield, IL, and 37-year-old Rafael Caro Jr. of Kansas City, MO, and charged all three with methamphetamine trafficking. They were taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Marion Police continue to investigate.
