WASHINGTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that the reconstruction of Illinois 15 over Lunte Creek, 3.6 miles west of Illinois 127 in Washington County, is behind schedule due to inclement weather last week and the adverse forecast for this week.

According to IDOT, motorists should follow the marked detour, utilizing Illinois 127 through Nashville and Interstate 64 and Illinois 160 through Okawville.

The project is now anticipated to be completed by mid-June.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
