Carol Mabel Kracht, age 79 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at her home in Salem.

Carol was born on February 24, 1946, in Jamestown, North Dakota, the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Johnson) Kracht.  She married Leonard Wolff on August 6, 1963, and they would later divorce.  From this union came their three sons, Brad, Darren, and Jason.

Survivors include her children, Brad Wolff and wife Roma of Elsah, Illinois; Darren Wolff and wife Sheryl of Salem; and Jason Wolff and husband Tom Epplin-Zapf of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Tyler Wolff and wife Molly, Lynsi Fosha and husband Richie, Kennedy Seaborn-Wolff, Dylan Wagoner, and Riona Epplin-Wolff; and great grandchildren, Cora, Mable, and Arthur Wolff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mable; and her siblings, Barbara Parmentier and Butch Kracht.

Carol enjoyed gardening, crafting and playing the piano, but getting to see and spend time with her family is what she cherished most.  She attended as many of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities as she could.

 Carol was a devoted member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem, where she volunteered in multiple roles including at the nursery and Gracie’s. Her work experience included being a Paraprofessional for the Salem school district, a substance abuse technician, and a hostess at Austin’s.

Funeral services for Carol Kracht will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem with Pastor Carol Lakota Eastin officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.  Memorial contributions can be made to Grace United Methodist Church and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home or at the church.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
