Deaconess Illinois invites community members to attend Cancer Conversations:
Colon Cancer Seminar on Thursday, March 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Deaconess Illinois
Crossroads, Conference Room A.

This free educational seminar will feature presentations from Hammad Shafqat, MD,
Hematology/Oncology, and Amar Mukerji, MD, Colon & Rectal Surgery and General Surgery. Together, they will discuss colon cancer prevention, screening recommendations, treatment options and the
importance of early detection.
Colon cancer remains one of the most common cancers in the United States, but it is also one of the most preventable and treatable when caught early. This seminar is designed to provide clear, accessible information to help individuals better understand their risks, recognize warning signs and learn about the latest advancements in care.

“Our goal with Cancer Conversations is to empower our community through education,” said Dr. Shafqat.
“When people understand screening guidelines and treatment options, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their health.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from specialists, ask questions, and learn more about local resources available through Deaconess Illinois.

Refreshments will be provided.
Community members are encouraged to RSVP by emailing summer.hobson@deaconess.com or by visiting the Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Facebook event page and registering through the provided link.
