Police have been searching for 20-year-old John Wells, first as a person of interest in the  January 20, shooting death of 26-year-old DeAndray Jackson, of California, and now as a first-degree murder suspect.

The shooting took place during an alleged attempted robbery. Prosecutors have already charged 18-year-old Lekedrieon Russell with first-degree murder for Jackson’s death. He was arrested last week in Springfield, Illinois and was eventually transported to the Jefferson County jail where he remains with bail set at $3 million.

Also arrested in connection with the case is 21-year-old Dantrez Brown, and a 17-year-old male juvenile. They both face charges of obstruction in connection with Jackson’s death.

Police continue to search for 19-year-old Lamar Williams, Jr., who is still considered a person of interest in the case.
