BENTON, Ill. — A 25-year-old Centralia man has been charged in a four-count federal indictment with drug and weapons charges.

Ryan A. Jacklin is currently being held in the Richland County Jail following a related September arrest in Olney.

According to Count 1 of the indictment, on or about September 12, 2016, in Richland County, Jacklin possessed with the intent to distribute 50-grams or more of methamphetamine.

Count 2 charges that on the same date, Jacklin possessed with the intent to distribute heroin.

Count 3 charges that on that date he possessed a .357 Taurus Magnum revolver in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

And Count 4 charges that from about 2014 to on or about September 12, 2016, in Marion and Washington counties, Jacklin conspired with others to manufacture and distribute 500 grams or more of meth, which is punishable by between 20 years to life in federal prison.

Jacklin was served the warrant on the federal charges on Thursday. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment Monday afternoon at the federal courthouse in Benton.

He was sentenced in March in Washington County to 2-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of Class 3 felony possession of meth and possessing a sawed-off shotgun.

His prison sentence was delayed and Jacklin was then remanded to the custody of Richland County to await drug and weapons charges pending there and fleeing and eluding charges pending in Marion County.
