WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Two motorcyclists were hospitalized after they each struck a deer early Tuesday morning in Williamson County.
Illinois State Police say just after 3:30 a.m., 25-year-old Joseph D. Hall of Carterville and 34-year-old Matthew S. Hayden of Marion were driving their motorcycles south on Route 37 near Reid Street heading toward Marion when Hall struck a deer that was attempting to cross the road. Hayden then struck the same deer.
After striking the deer, both men lost control of their motorcycles and came to rest on their side.
Hall and Hayden both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken by Williamson County EMS to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
