DIX, Ill. — A Wednesday morning crash in Dix sent three people to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
According to reports, a box truck driven by 21-year-old Courtney Girvan, of Bluford, was eastbound on Dix-Irvington Road when she ran a stop sign and crashed into a southbound car driven by 24-year-old Whitney Baldridge on Route 37. After the two vehicles collided, they sheared off an electric pole.
Baldridge, of Salem, was extricated from her vehicle by the Jefferson Rural Fire Department. She along with Girvan and a passenger in the Anchor truck, 30-year-old Christopher Welch of Mt. Vernon, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
Girvan was ticketed for violation of a traffic control device.
