CENTRALIA — SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is hosting their second annual golf ball drop along with their seventh annual golf tournament on Friday, September 15, 2017.

The money that is raised is funneled directly back into renovations, equipment, and other patient needs and services at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Centralia.

Golf balls will be dropped from an elevated height onto a golf green. Hundreds of balls will bounce and roll until the person whose golf ball lands in the hole – or closest to the hole – receives the grand prize of $1,000.

That prize is graciously sponsored by Monken Automotive in Centralia. Other prizes include: $300 sponsored by Moran-Queen-Boggs Funeral Home; $200 sponsored by Maryann Langenfeld, Foundation Trustee and Special Events Chairperson, a Weber Grill and supplies sponsored by ACE Hardware in Centralia and Country Bobs, and the final prize is golf passes to local courses.  Attending the ball drop is optional as all winners will be notified.

Every year community members and business leaders join together to support SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation.

According to Shawna Bullard, Administrative Director of Fund Development, the Foundation’s resources have assisted with the renovation of the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry, and other patient areas.

They have also assisted with the purchase of equipment used in Surgery, Radiology, and OB.

Golf ball tickets may be purchased for $5 each at the administrative offices of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital at 400 North Pleasant Avenue, Centralia, by emailing Shawna.bullard@ssmhealth.com, or by contacting the Foundation office at 618.899.1048.
