MARION COUNTY — A 38-year-old Patoka man was arrested Wednesday by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies for an incident earlier this month when he allegedly struck his former employer and damaged two vehicles.
According to Centralia police, two days after he quit his job, David Worley went to the home of his former boss on Kristy Drive in Centralia. Once there he told Douglas Trupp that “it wasn’t good enough,” when Trupp told him he wouldn’t be paid what he was owed until the end of the week.
Worley then reportedly struck Trupp multiple times, knocking him to the ground and then smashing the windows of vehicles owned by Trupp and his wife. Damage to the vehicles is estimated at between $500 and $10,000.
Worley then left the scene and wasn’t located until sheriff’s deputies found him Wednesday and turned him over the Centralia police for questioning.
He was subsequently taken to the Marion County Jail, with bail set at $10,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court October 10 for a preliminary hearing.
